In hindsight, a blunder. Think of it this way. The Orioles didn't want to give Cruz a 4th year and guarantee him 14m ( he got 4/57) for his age 37 season.

A year later, they are willing to guarantee the 30 year old Davis (turns 30 in March) 22M per year through his age 36 season. There's obviously a lot more risk on a Davis Contract there there was on a Cruz contract.

Yes, I just figured everyone would understand without rehashing all of that.

Considering that his 2015 season was valued at $38.5 mm, yes I'd say failing to sign Cruz at 4/$57 mm was a blunder, with 20/20 hindsight.
